Our engagement story:
Nick told me we were going out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Gris Gris, but before we left he blindfolded me. He walked me out to his truck and we started driving. I knew what was coming but had no idea where we were going! We both went to Loyola University in New Orleans for college. The school sits on an Oak tree lane across from Audubon Park. As we got out of the car and Nick took the blindfold off, the scenery was no less familiar than it is stunning. I don’t even remember what he said (if anything), but all I remember was saying yes!
Our love story:
On a typically hot, muggy New Orleans day in May, Nick had just gotten off a shift at the bar he worked at. I was at a friend’s birthday party and our paths crossed at Prytania Bar. I made the first move going up to talk to him. The rest is history!

Dress shopping was a little different in November 2020 in the middle of the Pandemic. I had to pick out 3 dresses online that I wanted to try on at the BHLDN store. I couldn’t bring many people with me, so one of my bridesmaids and my mom came with me. The one I chose to wear was the first one I selected on the BHLDN website and the very first one I tried on in the store. I loved the elegance and simplicity of the gown. It was light and easy to dance in, plus it fit the vibe of the venue, New Orleans, and the whole wedding we were planning.
Bridesmaids dresses:
Each bridesmaid picked their own black midi dress. I wanted them to feel comfortable, confident, and to be able to wear the dress again.

Our wedding venue:
Hotel Peter and Paul, New Orleans is a historic hotel in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans that was formerly a church and Catholic school. The space has been beautifully converted into a boutique hotel, restaurant, venue, and ice cream shop.
Our wedding style:
Vintage, boho, & psychedelic.
Our photographer:
LeeAnn B Stephan – based in Austin, TX. She is one of the sweetest and most talented women I have ever met. Her photography style complimented our venue and our style perfectly.
Our Honeymoon destination:
We went to Argentina for our honeymoon (Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Salta, Patagonia). El Chalten in Patagonia was our favorite place; we did various day hikes including Fitz Roy. Putting our feet in the glacial water at the end of the demanding 12-mile hike makes it worth it! The scenery was stunning, the food was great, and the feeling of being at the end of the world was indescribable.
Our most memorable moment:
Just before we were announced during the reception, we had a moment to ourselves behind the curtains in the old church. Neither of us will ever forget the anticipation and excitement of making an entrance on our most unforgettable day!
