Marrakech AW17

On the 5th July 2017 we travelled to Marrakech, Morocco for a magical photo shoot. With the help of our guides, our amazing team of creatives and all the wonderful people we met along the way, we came back with some beautiful images that are every bit as dreamy as our new collection. The free spirited and hazy atmosphere of the city perfectly matched our new whimsical and alluring collection, whilst the juxtaposition of traditional architecture and modern aspects of the city harmonized with our mix of timeless gowns and modern, fresh bridal separates and ready to wear styles.

With only three and a half days to shoot, the trip was packed with many stunning locations, quick changes in a pop up tent and endless make up touches in the sweltering heat! We experienced the bustling markets, full of energy, colour and madness everywhere we turned. Our photographers wouldn’t stop for anything to get the perfect shot, standing in the middle of endless traffic to capture the true atmosphere and culture of the beautiful city! Our journey took us to holy temples, the walls plastered with traditional tiles and mosaic, which looked gorgeous against the delicate and romantic lace of the new Geneva gown. The hot sun created the most perfect natural lighting, shimmering off the intricate and unique bead work and casting elegant shadows from the exquisite lace.

Our looks wouldn’t have been complete without the bohemian, Turkish inspired Jewellery from Ottoman hands, the dazzling gemstones sat beautifully against the crisp and fresh tones of the gowns as well as the radiant colours of the city. Harriet Wilde provided luxury and unique shoes, the jewelled embellishment added a touch of charm and created the most beautiful juxtaposition against the dusty and earthy backdrop.

On the 6th July we visited the stunning Selman Marrakech Hotel, where we were welcomed in like family. We shot in many locations around this beautiful hotel, including the oriental inspired spa, romantic private Riads and the Arabian thoroughbred stables. The Selman Marrakech exudes charm and sublime beauty, with breath taking interiors from Jacques Garcia who has combined traditional Moroccan craftsmanship with modern and contemporary touches to create a space that allows you to escape the outside world. Each room has its own hazy yet delicate lighting, creating a mysterious and romantic atmosphere, the Selman is truly one of Marrakech’s secret treasures. We are grateful at how warmly welcomed we were into the Hotel and feel honoured that we were able to use the magical surroundings with our whimsical gowns to create images of mystical beauty and alluring power.

Our favourite moment was capturing the endless dreamy layers of the Kendall dress with the incredibly beautiful Arabian horses, the delicate oriental flowers on the gown looked radiant against the luminous white of the stunning horse who was a natural in front of the camera!

We are so happy to share our incredible journey with you and hope you feel as uplifted and inspired as us. We are looking forward to seeing where our gorgeous gowns will take us next!
